Allerdale Community Fund
The Allerdale Community Fund was established by Allerdale
Borough Council in 2001 as an innovative way of channelling funds
into community projects. Administered by the Cumbria Community
Foundation, the Allerdale Community Fund aims to be as accessible
as possible to voluntary and community groups, and which would help
deliver long term benefits to local communities.
The Allerdale Community Fund will fund projects that improve the
economic, social and environmental well being of local communities.
Grants are awarded by a Panel composed of representatives from
local voluntary groups and a small number of Allerdale borough
councillors. The Panel meets regularly, so that groups are not
delayed. Urgent and small grants (up to £500) can be made by the
Chair and Grants Officer. The fastest grant was 58 minutes from
enquiry to approval!
