Discounts for Youth Trainees
If one or more of the occupants of a property is a Youth
Training trainee, a 25% discount may apply because he/she is
classed as not counted for Council Tax purposes. The discount is
50% if all the occupants are Youth Training trainees.
No discount applies if two or more people other than the trainee
(or anyone else who is not counted) live in the property.
If a person is a Youth Training trainee what are the conditions
for not being counted?
A person will be disregarded for the purposes of Council Tax if
on a particular day they are under the age of 25 and
following an individual training plan under section two
of the Employment and Training Act 1973, funded by the
Learning and Skills Council for England.
