Council Tax valuations
Each property has been allocated to one of
eight bands according to its open market capital value at 1 April
1991. Therefore recent purchase prices are not necessarily the best
evidence to use when appealing against your valuation band.
Your Council Tax bill states which band applies
to your property. You can also use the
My Property address search to view the Council Tax band for
your property (this can be found under the Useful Information
section of the results page for your search). The amount of Council
Tax to be paid for each band based on property location can be
viewed on our
Council Tax levels 2008-09
page.
