Accident investigation policy
This policy describes the circumstances when the Council will
investigate reported accidents and dangerous occurrences.
The Council investigates accidents for a number of reasons
including to ensure that adequate measures have been put in place
to prevent further risk and to find out if breaches of legislation
have occurred.
Not all reported accidents will be investigated by the Council.
The policy seeks to make best use of the Council's staff resources
and concentrate on investigations of incidents which are serious or
are likely to give rise to serious public concern.
