Licensing Act 2003 - Review of Licensing Policy
Under the terms of the Licensing Act 2003, the Council's
Statement of Licensing Policy has to be reviewed every three years.
The current Statement of Licensing Policy came into effect in
January 2011.
Allerdale Borough Council, along with the five other district
and borough councils in Cumbria recognise that many local and
national businesses in the leisure industry have undertakings
across the County and it is helpful if the approach to licensing
matters is consistent from one licensing authority to
another. Therefore in partnership
one revised licensing policy has been developed which
sets out how each council will undertake their duties towards
licensing alcohol, entertainment and late night refreshment over
the next three years. This has been adopted separately by
each authority.
The current policy is below.
Enforcement Policy
Allerdale Borough Council has developed an Enforcement Policy
for Licensing. The Policy document gives details of how the Council
will approach Licensing Enforcement and how it will consider cases
for prosecution. The Policy does not cover all areas of Licensing,
details of the areas covered can be found at the beginning of the
policy document below.
