  • It is the largest type of crime in West Cumbria.

There are lots of different losers from criminal damage. Here are some of the possible effects on the people who carry out the criminal damage:

  • I was so drunk I don’t even remember doing it, now I have a criminal record.
  • I did it for dare, now my grandma doesn’t want to know me.
  • I was bored, now I‘ve got to spend loads of time cleaning up the damage I caused.
  • High spirits on the way home from the pub, now I’m banned out of all the pubs in the town and my employer is thinking of giving me the sack.
  • I just followed and joined in with some mates, now I am ashamed whenever I walk past.
  • I didn’t realise how much effort people had put into that building and now it’s gone because of my stupidity.
  • I didn’t like her dumping me, now I am going to be in front of the specialist domestic violence court – that is really going to help me get another girl (not).
  • I thought it would frighten them, I nearly killed someone.
  • I didn’t realise it would upset the little kids at the school.
  • The adults in the town are much less friendly and helpful since the phone box was blown up.
  • I set fire to some grass, an old guys pigeon loft went up as well, now he’s moved into a residential home because he’s so upset. It was my mate’s granddad, now he won’t talk to me.
