Equality & Community Engagement
We recognise that it is important that people of all backgrounds
can have a say in the way we run services. Consultation helps
us to shape our policies and services and keep us in tune with what
our customers want. The Council has produced a Corporate
Consultation Strategy and Consultation Toolkit.
In Cumbria we have got together with District Councils, NHS
Trusts and Housing Associations to create
a Consortium Agreement with three organisations:
- AWAZ - to develop
links between Black and Minority Ethnic people of all backgrounds,
and to engage with faith groups.
- Cumbria Disability
Network - to develop links between disability
associations, and ensure that they reflect all impairment
groups
- OutREACH Cumbria - to
develop links between Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender
people.
