Equality Framework for Local
Government
The framework has been developed as a tool to enable local
authorities to identify disadvantage associated with race, gender,
disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation and age (the 6
equality strands) and set targets to eliminate the barriers that
create disadvantage.
The Equality Framework provides a way to
assess our commitment to make equality a true part of what we
do.
There are three levels of achievement;
'developing', 'achieving' and 'excellent'.
Allerdale Borough Council were awarded the 'Achieving' Level
in April 2011 following a peer assessment. Access the Equality
