The provision of CCTV cameras in Allerdale forms an important role in preventing and detecting crime and improving community safety. The Council realizes that it is vital that the information contained in CCTV footage is treated confidentially and with the utmost integrity at all times. There are occasions where data generated by the CCTV system may be made by third parties for any one or more of the following purposes.
Providing evidence in criminal proceedings
Providing evidence in civil proceedings or tribunals
The prevention of crime
The investigation and detection of crime, this may include identification of offenders
Identification of witnesses
