Workington Customer Service Centre
Welcome to
the Customer Service Centre web pages. On 5 October 2006, Allerdale
Borough Council launched its new Customer Service Centre in
Workington Town Hall. These pages will keep you updated on the
extending range of services the Customer Service Centre can
provide.
What is a Customer Service Centre?
Our customer service centre aims to become the central point
for all council enquiries providing residents, visitors and
businesses with quick and easy access to council services.
Customers are able to pay their bills, pick up forms and
information and have the majority of their questions answered at
just one point. This is an improvement on our previous system with
different reception areas at various council sites.
Our aims
We hope that our Customer Service Centre will improve the
customer experience by:
- Improving service - Our customer service
advisors are trained to deal with a variety of enquiries, providing
a single point of contact for all council services. However, if you
have a specialist enquiry you can still speak to a service expert
or make an appointment to see them at a convenient time for
you.
- Improving facilities - The centre provides
easy access for pushchairs, prams and wheelchair users. There are
also dedicated car parking spaces for visitors. The newly
refurbished town hall offers a friendlier place to visit with
more space and comfortable seating areas. Private interview rooms
are also available on request.
- Improving access to information - We would
like all of our customers to have a choice about how they get in
contact with us. The Customer Service Centre is equipped with the
latest technology, allowing us to deal with enquiries over the
phone, in person, by email or via the internet. If you do not have
access to the internet at home, you can also make use of our
self-service area, providing access to the Allerdale Borough
Council website and service information. Please see our section on
contacting the Customer Service Centre.
