10/03/2010 - Mayor’s charity night raises over £500
A charity event held at the Masonic Hall, Workington, last weekend raised over £500.
The Mayor of Allerdale, Cllr Binky Armstrong, hosted a musical evening on 6 March, starring Andrew Nix, the residential organist at Blackpool Tower.
The event sold out and, together with the proceeds of a raffle, raised over £500 for the Mayor’s charities: Breast Cancer Research, Prostate Cancer Research and The Great North Air Ambulance.
Cllr Armstrong said: “It was a wonderful evening of great entertainment and I would like to thank everyone who attended for their very kind generosity.”
