Allerdale Borough Council trialling services in Aspatria

Allerdale Borough Council is trialling a new service in Aspatria, to make it easier for residents to get advice on a range of services and to see how easy it is to report things on-line.

Council staff will be on hand at Aspatria Library every Tuesday afternoon from 2pm-5pm. They will be able to help local residents with queries about council services

The trial will initially last for eight weeks to gauge demand and is part of the Council's aim to look at new ways to make it easier for residents to access its services. The trial will start on Tuesday 11 July 2017.

Konrad Hansen, Executive member with responsibility for customer services, said: "There are many ways that customers can contact us - online, by phone, via our new app, and of course face-to-face. We already have offices in other towns in the borough which provide a full range of services to customers. However, we've recently been asked to look into extending this to Aspatria too – so I'm really pleased to see the trial starting. I hope local residents find it useful."

The Council has also been reviewing how it provides its services in the other towns in the area – having recently successfully moved its Cockermouth office to the library on the town's Main Street, in a partnership with the local town council and Cumbria County Council.
