Councillor Trevor Fee

Councillor Trevor Fee

Tributes have been paid to a long-serving and popular councillor who died suddenly on Monday night.

Councillor Trevor Fee had been elected member for Seaton on Allerdale Borough Council since 2003, a County Councillor since 2005 and had been Chairman of Seaton Parish Council since 2009.  He was Leader of the Independent Group on Allerdale Borough Council and served on the Overview and Scrutiny Committees. He was also a member of the Audit Committee and served on the Licensing Panel and other task groups.

Councillor Alan Smith, Leader of Allerdale Borough Council, said: “Trevor was a deeply respected Councillor and friend to many, many people. He will be remembered by his colleagues here at the Council as a true gentleman and a much-valued member of the community. Our thoughts are with Trevor’s wife Adelaide, their two children, and the rest of his family at this sad time.”

Councillor David Wilson, who served with Councillor Fee on the Independent Group on Allerdale Borough Council, said: “Trevor was very well known throughout the community. He was not only as a dedicated councillor but also a volunteer with Seaton First Responders, which he helped to set up. It was a pleasure to work with him as a Councillor and he will be missed.”

The Council’s civic flag is currently flying at half-mast outside Allerdale House following Councillor Fee’s sad death. It will remain in this position until Councillor Fee’s funeral, as is Council protocol.
