Allerdale Borough Council Easter arrangements

Tuesday 31 March 2015

Allerdale Borough Council is reminding residents that bin collections over the Easter period will be carried out one day later than normal.

Bins due to be collected on Good Friday will be collected as usual. However, with effect from Easter Monday 6th April, bins will be collected one day later throughout the week – with those which would normally be collected on the Friday (10th April) collected on the Saturday (11th April) instead. Collections will be back to normal from the following week, commencing Monday 13th April.

More information is available by visiting where residents can check bin collection dates, report a missed collection, and check for anything that could affect collections.

All household waste recycling centres in Allerdale operated by Cumbria County Council will be open over the Easter period as follows:

  • Workington – open daily from 8am-6pm
  • Maryport – open daily from 8am-6pm
  • Wigton – open Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sunday from 8am-6pm

Office opening dates/times:

All Council offices (including Allerdale House in Workington and all Customer Service Centres in Cockermouth, Keswick, Maryport and Wigton) will close at 5pm on Thursday 2nd April and reopen again at 9am* on Tuesday 7th April. (*Allerdale House opens at 8.45am). The emergency out-of-hours number while offices are closed is 01900 871080.

Allerdale Borough Council’s website can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a secure online payment facility as well as specific pages to report any issues. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
