Allerdale Borough Council is encouraging
residents in Allerdale to check out proposals for new parliamentary
constituency boundaries.
From next Tuesday, 13 September 2011, the
Boundary Commission for England will be starting a 12 week
consultation on its proposals.
Allerdale residents can go along to the following
venues to view a map and read the initial proposals: Allerdale
House, Workington; Customer Service Centre, Town Hall, Oxford
Street, Workington; Customer Service Centre, Town Hall, Senhouse
Street, Maryport; Customer Service Centre, Town Hall, Main Street,
Keswick; Local Links, Market Hall, Wigton; Customer Service Centre,
Fairfield car park, Cockermouth; Local Links, Aspatria Library;
Tourist Information Centre, Liddell Street, Silloth and Town Hall,
Market Street, Cockermouth.
The consultation closes on Monday, 5 December
2011. Responses to the consultation should be returned to the
Boundary Commission who will make a formal report to the Government
recommending any changes it believes are appropriate to the
distribution, size, shape, name or designation of constituencies in
England.
