Improving voting facilities
To improve voting facilities for electors,
Allerdale Borough Council is carrying out a review of polling
districts and places.
The Council is asking the public to make
comments, either in support of the existing arrangements for
polling stations or to propose alternative suggestions, regarding
voting facilities and the accessibility of polling stations.
Information about the
current arrangements can be viewed on the Council’s website or
at Allerdale House, Workington. The final date for comments is
Friday 21 October 2011.
Councillor Barbara Cannon, Executive member
with responsibility for democratic services, said: “It is important
that we have the right facilities to make it easy for people to
vote. Local political parties, councillors and parish councils have
already been consulted and we now invite the views of electors
within the Allerdale area.”
Comments regarding the proposals can be
emailed to elections@allerdale.gov.uk or posted to Returning
Officer, Democratic Services/Elections, Allerdale House,
Workington, Cumbria, CA14 3YJ.
All correspondence, comments and proposals
will be published on completion of the review.
