Five green bottles...

Residents are being encouraged to look after their environment and not drop litter with a fun online video produced by Allerdale Borough Council.

Titled “Five green bottles”, the short film offers advice on how people can help to cut out the problems of fly-tipping, dog fouling and streets littered with chewing gum and cigarette ends.

It features a rewritten song which begins with the words:

“Five green bottles standing on the wall – five green bottles standing on the wall,

“They could have been recycled – they needn’t be there at all,

“And the amount going to landfill could soon begin to fall.”

For more information on the environment and waste, call Allerdale Borough Council’s Street Scene team on 01900 702800, email cleansing@allerdale.gov.uk or visit the Council's environment page.
