Questions at Council
Please find below the responses to questions asked at Council
meetings.
At the meeting of Council on
14 December 2011, Councillor Finlay asked for clarification
regarding the empty homes bonus, in particular whether 'empty'
meant any empty home or homes that had been empty for 6 months or
more. Councillor McCarron-Holmes response is as follows: "An
empty home for the purpose of the New Homes Bonus is one that has
been empty for longer than 6 months. It excludes those empty
homes that have an "exemption" attached, due to probate or
when we have served a Prohibition Order on it, legally prohibiting
its use, for example."
