There are 2 Parliamentary Constituencies that make up the Allerdale Borough area, the Workington Constituency and Penrith & The Border Constituency.
The last Parliamentary Elections we held in May 2005 and were combined with the County Council Elections.
The MP for the Workington Constituency is Tony Cunningham (Lab)
The MP for the Penrith & The Border Constituency is Rt Hon David Maclean (Con)

Members of European Parliament (MEPs)

The UK is divided into 12 regions and each region has between 3 and 10 MEP's and each MEP in a region represents each person living there.  For example all 9 of the MEP's in the North West Region represent the people of Allerdale.

We last had European Elections in June 2004 and the next are scheduled to take place in 2009.
