The Council in a Click
Allerdale Borough
Council launched a campaign to encourage residents to click
onto its website to pay a bill, report a problem or ask a
question.
The aim of the campaign was to explain in a fun way just how easy
it is to talk to the Council through our website. With a click of
the mouse you can tell us how we can help you.
With more people feeling comfortable using the internet, it
makes sense for residents to be able to contact us from the comfort
of their own home and at a time that suits them – even if that time
is four o’clock in the morning!
If you can order your shopping, manage your bank accounts and
book cinema tickets online – why shouldn't you expect the same
convenience on-line from the Council?
The benefits? The more people that deal with the Council via the
web, the more resources this frees up for reinvesting in frontline
services, which benefits local people.
The initiative built on the Government’s £5 million national
advertising campaign which aimed to persuade people to go to their
local council website as their first point of call. Allerdale
Borough Council’s campaign took this project one step further to
raise wider awareness within the immediate local community.
The campaign ran from 30 October to 1 January, with adverts in
the local newspapers, high street poster sites and adverts on the
backs of buses.
