Internal Audit
Internal Audit is an independent appraisal function established
within Allerdale Borough Council for the review of internal control
systems as a service to manager and elected members. Internal audit
objectively examines, evaluates and reports on the adequacy of the
internal control as a contribution to the proper, economic,
efficient and effective use of resources in the local authority.
Internal Audit, in conjunction with the Police, also investigates
any irregularities concerning the misuse of Council resources.
