Responses to consultations
Where central Government is proposing to
introduce new national policy or make a change to any existing
legislation they will carry out a formal national
consultation. These consultations are published via the
various Government department websites. The Council
needs to keep abreast of policy changes at a national level in
order to be able to properly assess the implications arising from
those and to prepare for any policy or service changes that the
Council may need to make.
The Council has developed a framework to establish a
formal process which will better identify, manage and coordinate
the Council’s involvement in national consultations and the
responses we submit to central government. By keeping
abreast of national consultations the Council will be better placed
to consider the potential implications of any proposals well in
advance of their implementation and plan accordingly for any
changes.
Where appropriate the Council will make available the responses
to such national consultations. These can be downloaded below.
