Concessionary travel

Allerdale Borough Council offices will no longer
be able to accept your bus pass applications or answer any related
enquiries from 1st April 2011.
Free Bus Travel for eligible residents will continue -
the statutory national scheme will apply.
Scheme Reminder:
Free bus travel off peak only
: between 9.30am and 11pm Monday to Friday, (and all day
on Bank Holidays and weekends).
If you are of eligible age or have certain
disabilities, you are entitled to free off-peak bus travel on local
bus services – anywhere in England.
How do residents of Allerdale apply for concessionary
travel?
Cumbria County Council will take over the
responsibility for the National Concessionary Travel Scheme from
1st April 2011. For further details see

Initially, the six main libraries throughout Cumbria will accept
application forms and deal with concessionary bus travel
enquiries. For residents of Allerdale, this will be
Workington Library.

Additional scheme enhancements previously offered by Allerdale
have been discontinued; however, you can purchase a Senior
Railcard at a reduced price of £24 (while stocks last) at
any of Allerdale Borough Council offices. You may
purchase a Senior Rail Card even if you already have a NoWcard for
bus travel.
