Workington Leisure Centre and Pools
Workington Leisure Centre and Pool is operated and managed by
Carlisle Leisure Limited
(CLL) and offers a range of activities for all ages and abilities.
Facilities include two swimming pools (main pool and teaching
pool), sports hall, fully equipped fitness suite (refurbished in
2012), activity studio, spinning studio (enlarged in 2012), boxing
ring, badminton and squash courts.

A Leisure Access membership card is available, which enables
qualifying Allerdale residents to receive a 50% discount on
pay-per-visit activities. Application forms are available from the
centre or can be
downloaded.
Activities available
- A variety of swimming sessions - including general swim, adults
only, parent and toddler, 50+, Workington swimming club,
aqua-natal, aqua-fit and more
- Swimming lessons for adults and children (including junior
life-saving)
- Exercise to music/fitness – including spinning (including
beginnners, intermediate and family), aerobics, circuits, Body
Pump, Body Combat, Urban Rebound, Attack & Tone and
more
- Personal coaching sessions in the fitness
centre
- Children’s party hire
- Bouncy castle, soft play and ball pool
- A variety of children’s activities and young fitness activities
– including football courses, gymnastics, athletics, Kids Zone Camp
(half term), junior sports academies, Podium Stars and
more
- Hire of facilities including badminton and squash courts and
four outdoor football pitches.

Admissions policy for junior swimmers
Please note, for safety reasons, all children under 8
years must be accompanied in the water by an adult at all
times. One adult can supervise two children aged 4 to 7
years. Children under 4 years must be accompanied on a one-to-one
basis.
Improvements
Carlisle Leisure Limited, in
partnership with Allerdale Borough Council, continue to make
improvements at
the centre. Improvements are funded by business rates relief
which Carlisle Leisure Limited are able to achieve due to having
charitable trust status.
