Cycling
West Cumbria Cycle Forum
The West Cumbria Cycle Forum was set
up seven years ago to try and help to develop cycling in
West Cumbria. Over the years they have delivered a number of bike
events from the 100 mile challenge to beginners and family rides on
the new traffic free cycle paths in the area. On top of this they
have also been involved in consultation for the Cumbria Cycle
network, guidance for farmers when hedge cutting and assisted in
pulling funding together for a Cycling 4 Health three year
project.
This project has now come to an end and it's time to look at the
future plans for Cycling in Allerdale and Copeland. There are plans
for a public workshop for all those involved in cycling to have
their say on the priorities, whether it's economic through
routes such as the C2C or the Hadrians route or it's developing
club cycling or promoting the new routes, we want to know. So watch
this space for details!
