Comments:
- Relevant as overall guide, especially
constraints section. Lack of highways investment is a big
constraint for Allerdale and Copeland.
- Good to find out that the work already done
does not mean site is not going to guarantee a planning
approval.
- Would have benefited if there had been
greater confidence over next steps and the timing and method of
consultation.

Comments:
- Should have explained the actual mechanics of
carrying out the Flood Risk Assessment (FRA).
- Good presentation. Hope the recent
flooding problems in Cumbria do not end up with a knee jerk
reaction and increase areas rather than look at what caused the
problem.

Comments:
- Not sure about difference between
non-material and minor amendments. If non-material, should
permission be required?
- A standard ‘update’ page on website would be
very useful, but would need to be up-to-date and kept that
way.
- Liked the idea of the newspaper ‘read all
about it’. Look forward to more of these in the future.
- Protected Species: Interesting to
compare costs of engaging consultants and carrying out mitigation
as part of the overall development costs of a project – never
underestimate consultants’ fees.
- Lack of clarity of Allerdale Borough
Council’s approach.

Comments:
- An event purely for the LDF, once approved,
would be very useful.
- Very poor as slides were unreadable and no
copies in information pack.
- Poor presentation and difficult to understand
as a result.
- Difficult to follow, disjointed, writing too
small to read.
- Difficult to understand.
- Poor presentation with no real purpose.

Comments:
- Questionable content re past flooding events
and severity.
- A well balanced presentation with good
background information and addressing a positive way forward for
the future.
- Very informative presentation.
Interesting. Enjoyable to listen to.
- Very good. Use as a ‘recovery model’
for other flood disasters. Have all shop fronts and buildings
photographed as a record.

Areas agents would like to see covered
in future:
Planning Portal – The Planning Portal Area
Manager has attended previous events and it would be useful to hear
of recent changes / updates.
Natural England – Protected Species.
Revisit planning update at regular
intervals.
Impact of current planning issues on historic
/ listed buildings.
Affordable housing requirements and how need
information is ascertained.
Spatial Model, need clearer information.
|
|
CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS:
Well worth attending, keeps one in touch.
Overall a good event and in the main very
informative; just a shame the slides on Spatial Options were
poor.
Really very useful.
Questions/answers could be time limited.
Well organised event in a good venue.
Cracking lunch.
It is a positive that Allerdale Borough
Council continues to organise the event and it should be given
positive publicity.
|
|
SUGGESTIONS:
Conservation opportunities in Workington.
Would be useful to include officers from other
Cumbrian planning authorities to encourage them to hold similar
events, increase understanding of issues faced by planning
consultants / planning officers, etc.
