Meeting the Five Year Supply of Housing Land
In November 2006, Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing (PPS3)
introduced a new requirement for Local Planning Authorities to be
able to demonstrate five years of deliverable housing land within
their boundaries.
The Council has produced a document aimed at doing this,
entitled Meeting the Five Year Supply of Housing Land. This
document aims to establish an initial base supply of suitable
sites, covering the period 2007/8 - 2012/13. In order to comply
with PPS3, however, the supply of housing land must be considered
to be a 'rolling' supply, meaning that as new sites come
forward they are included, while as older sites are
completed they are removed from consideration. Annual updates to
the supply will be included in our Annual Monitoring Reports.
Meeting the Five Year Supply of Housing Land is available
to download below. A wide range of sites have been demonstrated,
and the supply has been met. Please note that should any sites
come forward that have not been included in the 5 Year Supply, they
will still be considered and then included, should they prove to
be suitable.
