Other Planning Policy Documents
In order to facilitate the production of the Local Development
Framework, the council will be putting together a number
of minor documents that will serve as reference and guidance to
forthcoming planning policy. These documents will be included
below as they become available.
Urban Capacity Study
In order to assist the development and planning processes,
Allerdale Borough Council has decided that it is necessary to
undertake an Urban Capacity Study of its main settlements.
This will give an accurate picture of the potential for housing
sites and capacity within the urban areas of Allerdale and will
provide baseline information for the forthcoming Local Development
Framework. Please note however that this study is not
prescriptive, and applications for developments on sites documented
therein may not necessarily be granted planning permission, nor
does it mean that applications on sites not included within the
study will not be considered. We will welcome any suggestions
you may have for new possible sites not included within this study.

available on request.
