Household waste - special collections for large items
Allerdale Borough
Council offers a special refuse collection to householders within
the borough.
We will arrange the collection of all bulky household
items for a fee. As a general rule, bulky items can be
defined as anything that you might take with you when you move
house such as furniture (chests, wardrobes, dressers etc), carpets,
beds, mattresses, bicycles, exercise equipment, garden equipment
and the like.
White goods can be collected at a fee per unit and are sent
locally for recycling. White Goods are items such as e.g. fridges,
freezers, cookers, TV's, washing machines, dishwashers, tumble
dryers etc
We can also make arrangements for the collection of small
amounts of Garden and D.I.Y. waste for a fee. Large
amounts will require an inspection.
To arrange collection of bulky household items using the special
collection service you can use the online form, email domestic.refuse@allerdale.gov.uk or
telephone 01900 702800.
