The Big Tidy Up
Allerdale Borough Council would like to enlist your help to
participate in the Keep Britain Tidy Clean up Campaign in support
of the joint Clean it campaign supported by Allerdale Borough
Council, Times and Star and the Civic Trust. It was launched in
September and is Keep Britain Tidy’s first national clean up
in over 8 years to encourage a public upsurge in local clean up
events.
ENCAMS is running a national advertising campaign from July
which aims to get as many members of the public and established
groups on board to help improve their local environment. The
advertising will direct the public to a dedicated website where
they will be able to find out further information on how to
register and organise their own local clean up. Participants will
be encouraged to log their efforts onto the website which will
feature a map of England; this will indicate how many bags of
rubbish have been collected throughout the clean up.
The Big Tidy up will be using outdoor advertising across the
country in the format of phone boxes and billboards which will
direct members of the public to ENCAMS dedicated website.
Allerdale will be hosting several events throughout the campaign
dates will be advertised nearer the time of the launch. Anyone
interested in volunteering or holding an event should contact
environmental.wardens@allerdale.gov.uk
