What is Allerdale Borough Council doing about climate
change?
In October 2007 Allerdale Borough Council
signed the Nottingham Declaration.
The Borough Council have
subsequently developed a strategy and action plan to reduce
their greenhouse gas emissions. A copy of the strategy and action
plan can be found in the downloadable documents section below. A
number of steps have already taken place to reduce waste and raise
awareness of staff about climate change. The Council are working
with the Cumbria Strategic Partnership to support coordinated
actions to tackle climate change and the Council's action plan
incorporates a number of actions to contribute to the Cumbria
Strategic Partnership's climate change strategy and action
plan.
In May 2010 a Climate Change Coordinator was
appointed to accelerate the work in this area.
