Dog exclusion areas
Allerdale approached all Town and Parish Councils and Social
Housing organisations who we thought would benefit from a Dog
Exclusion Area in an enclosed children's play area. The Dog
Exclusion (No. 3) Order 2007, under which these exclusions are
made can be downloaded from the link at the bottom
of this page.
Dogs are excluded from the following areas:

Enforcement
It is an offence under The Clean Neighbourhood and Environment
Act 2005 to take, or allow your dog into, any of the above enclosed
areas. Should you be caught in breach of this bylaw then you can be
issued with a Fixed Penalty Fine of £75 which you are given 14
days to pay. If you pay within 10 days then the fine is
reduced to £60. However, re-offenders or those who fail to pay the
fixed penalty can have further action taken against them in the
magistrates court, with a maximum fine of £1000 plus costs. This
legislation can also be enforced by the Police Community Support
Officers.
