Fees for retrieving a stray dog

Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, all stray dogs will be seized and taken to Whinmill Farm Kennels, Harrington. Listed below are the retrieval fees:

Whinmill Farm Kennels are open 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week, except over the Christmas holidays (contact kennels direct on 01946 832002 for opening hours during this period).

Directions to Whinmill Farm Kennels

From Workington:- Head towards Harrington and Lillyhall along Salterbeck Road. Go through the village of Harrington and out the other side. Whinmill Farm is approximately 300 yards further up the road on the left hand side. Caravans are visible in the fields around the kennels from the road.

From Cockermouth:- Head towards Workington on the A66, take the first exit at the roundabout by the Melbreak Hotel (signposted Whitehaven A595). At the next roundabout go straight ahead, staying on the A595. At the next roundabout turn right, signposted A597 Lakes College, Workington. Continue along the road past the entrance to the Lakes College. Whinmill Farm is approximately 200 yards further up the road, on the right hand side, just over the brow of the hill. Caravans are visible in the fields around the kennels.
