Severe weather disruption

The Meteorological Office has an important role issuing severe weather warnings. They warn us all in the local community about severe or hazardous weather that has the potential to cause widespread disruption. They advise on probable locations and duration of severe weather patterns. Severe weather warnings will come to you via internet, television, local radio or by word of mouth.

Any severe weather disruptions, including council services, school and road closures, will be listed here or relevant links will be provided.

Service disruptions

There are currently no reported severe weather service disruptions.

Other useful information

Clearing snow yourself

There's no law stopping you from clearing snow and ice on the pavement outside your home or from public spaces. It's unlikely you'll be sued or held legally responsible for any injuries on the path if you have cleared it carefully. Follow the snow code when clearing snow and ice safely. For more information visit Direct Gov - A commonsense guide to help shopkeepers and residents who want to clear paths.
