Who is The Hub for?
The Hub is for everyone to use: The design was selected to meet
the demands of the public consultation - to provide shelter as well
as a new public performance and meeting space.
How was The Hub funded?
The Hub was the final and most dramatic in a series of
public realm projects in Workington town centre, and was
funded by the North West Regional
Development Agency.
About the Design Team
BASE Structures
Ltd is a leading tensile fabric structures contractor,
who provides a complete service to the fabric structures industry
from foundations, design, manufacturing to installation and
maintenance. BASE specialise in structures for exterior and
interior purposes, advertising media such as engineered banners,
building wraps, net structures and have a specialist rope access
department.
Examples of BASE structures include world famous
locations such as the Lords Cricket Ground, Eden Project, Gatwick
Airport and London's Portabello Market.
