Funding

We know that people are going to be inspired to get involved in sports once the Olympics arrives, so we have some funding schemes to help get clubs and coaches ready to open their doors to the community and new members.

Coach Education Grant – Make sure your club is prepared and has plenty of qualified coaches ready to take on all those keen new members! This grant is for volunteers involved in clubs, who are looking to get onto or move-up the coach education ladder. They can apply for up to a 40% financial contribution to a level 1, 2 or 3 coaching qualification.

Club ‘Celebrate the Games’ Grant – We have a pot of funding for clubs who want to use the Olympic Games to inspire people within their wider communities to have a go at their sports. This could be through a daytime festival event, over a weekend, or a series of weekly sessions. We welcome all ideas so be as creative as you like, and hopefully we’ll have an event in each of the towns in the borough.

Grants to Talented Individuals – The Olympics will inspire those already involved in sport to push themselves that little bit harder. So to help you get there, we have a small grant available to those who are competing or training at a high level (above regional level) in their sports to help towards the cost of travel, accommodation or entry fees to an event. It can also be used to purchase some new equipment or kit.
