Keswick Museum and Art Gallery Exhibitions 2007

April 3rd – May 30th: Selected Photographs from the Abraham Collection

As part of the Keswick Mountain Festival, the Abraham family have specially selected photographs for this exhibition. The exhibition will also include video footage of the Abraham family and a display of mountaineering artefacts from the Museum’s collection.

June 2nd – 29th: Linda Gallacher

Following in the tradition of abstract landscapists, Linda’s large scale paintings are inspired by the Lake District and nature in all its forms. Linda aims for her work to be uplifting, sublime and meditative for the viewer.

2nd – 30th July: ‘Life in Layers’

Featuring the work of young Keswick artists Celia Burbush, Rebecca Martin and Julie Wilmott; the exhibition will be three different explorations of life through the practice of art. Supporting creative material such as sketches, notes, photographs and journal entries will also be on display.

2nd July – 30th Aug: Ceramics from Cumbria III

Curated by Mary Chappelhow of Interlude Ceramics, the exhibition will feature new studio pottery and ceramics from members of Northern Potters Cumbria. Work will be for sale.

2nd – 30th August: The Derwentwater Foreshore Children’s Art Exhibition

Results of an art competition inspired by the Derwentwater foreshore and recent plans for its development

3rd – 29th September:Group Exhibition

Paintings and sculpture from a small group of artists from the Lake Artists Society, including Philip MacLeod Coupe and Meryll Evans

2nd – 31st October: Ros White

Large-scale dramatic paintings of the Cumbrian sea and coastline. In her work, Ros wants to develop a celebration of seascape, both in atmosphere and dynamics.

Results from a community art project where contributors created maps of their areas using felting techniques.

26th, 27th 30th and 31st October: Big Draw Event 

Part of the National Campaign for Drawing
