Workington Leisure
Centre improvements
Allerdale Borough Council in partnership with Carlisle
Leisure Limited has carried out a number of
improvements at the Allerdale leisure facilities. These
improvements are funded by business rates relief which
Carlisle Leisure Limited is able to achieve due to having
charitable trust status.
The use of these funds are jointly agreed by the partners
and to date have enabled a number of improvements to be made which
improve the quality of the facilities and increase the range of
activities available to users.
Dry side improvements
A new scheme is being worked up and costed to refurbish and
improve two areas in the 'dry side' of the leisure centre and
include:
- The refurbishment of the changing rooms, including toilets and
showers
- Relocating the reception desk to enable more customers to be
served at the same time
These improvements will be funded through NNDR Business Rate
savings achieved by Carlisle Leisure Limited and used as a 'Joint
Fund' for service and facility improvements.
Energy Efficiency
Carlisle Leisure Limited has recently carried out a thernal
