Are you looking for funding as a club, performer or

Active
Cumbria website and use the free GRANTnet service

funding sources.

Bulletin which has two or three pages in if up to date grant
schemes.
Talented Athletes
Allerdale Borough Council
If you have been selected to compete or train at
regional level or above and you live in Allerdale, then you might
be eligible to apply for some funding support towards your
expenses.
The funding can help towards travel or
accommodation costs, competition entry fees, or some new
equipment.
If this is you, and your sport is
recognised by Sport England then get in touch for an
application form or download one from the bottom of the page.

sports person each year up to around £800 and the Workington store
is no different. To be eligible you must be aged between 12 - 18
years (or 12 - 25 years if involved in a disability
sport) and be training or competing at a national level.

help financially support volunteer coaches within

coaching qualification.

Clubs
Allerdale Borough Council
We are offering sports clubs in the Allerdale area who come
up with a creative idea to use the Olympics Games
2012 the opportunity to apply for some funding (up to £250).
All we ask is that the project seeks to get people from their local
community enthused and motivated to have a go and
get involved in sport and physical activity.
You can 'celebrate the games' with anything from a
full day event, a mini competition, family fixtures.
Alternatively, you can use it to kick start a new session for
your club over a number of weeks. You may also like to
buy some new equipment (limited to 50% of costs) to allow you
to attract a new audience.
All we ask is that:
- Any projects involving coaching activity must be delivered
by a fully qualified level 2 coach and has all the relevent checks
in place
- The activity is opened up to members of the public to get
involved, it is not just for current club members
- It is not funding the clubs existing activities, it needs to be
a new session/activity
- It must take place between May and September 2012
Cumbria Community Foundation
The Cumbria Community Foundation has around 17
funding schemes which range from £50 right up to
£100,000 and currently include Sports Relief, coalfields and
the Allerdale Youth Bank. They have Allerdale specific or
County wide funding pots which cover everything from equipment
costs, training for volunteers and developing new activities and
there are new funders adding all the time so it's
always worth a look. They keep local need under review
regularly to ensure grants are targeted to the most deserving
causes. These are currently:
- Tackling disadvantage in rural communities
- Tackling disadvantage in pockets of deprivation including the
top 20% most deprived wards
- Supporting disadvantaged children and young people
- Hidden and emerging need
- Also older people can apply for grants
They do support other projects outside these priorities which
focus on disadvantaged groups in Cumbria.
If you would like to know more about their funding please

There have been a number of changes to the funding from the
Foundation and currently the only funding pots available for
grassroots clubs are:
- Extra Time Grants

Awards for All
Awards for All is a Big Lottery funded programme set up to
provide greater opportunities, improved facilities, and more money
for sport. This has changed from previous years as some
of the partner funders have separated and are now running
their own small grants schemes (see further down for Sport
England's small grants scheme for sport specific pots), however
Awards for All is still available to give funding
to clubs, schools and groups looking at developments
within the Community, aslong as they meet one off the outcomes
below:
- People have better chances in
life – with better access to training and development to improve
life skills.
- Stronger communities – with more
active citizens working together to tackle issues within the
community.
- Improved rural and urban
environments – which communities are able to better access and
enjoy.
- Healthier and more active
people and communities.
If you are a local group and need between £300 and £10,000
