U3A. University of the 3rd Age. - Need to be members of the U3A.
Wednesday 1.00 - 4.00.  Fitness / exercise class with qualified instructor, badminton & table tennis.
Friday afternoon - Indoor bowls, contact U3A for details.
Discounted gym & swim sessions for members of the U3A.

Prime Time Club

Monday & Friday 9.00am - 12noon.  Badminton Friday 9.00 - 10.00am free swimming funded jointly by Age Concern & CLL.
This session is always available but is only free certain weeks of the year in term time, call the Centre for info.
Also:
50+ Swim. Monday 2.30-3.30pm & Wednesday 3.00-4.00pm.
Adult swimming lessons.
The Leisure Access Card is available to senior citizens.

Tai Chi Exercises for Health

Do you have a long-term  medical condition such as multiple sclerosis, arthritis, asthma, or chronic back pain?
Would you like to do gentle exercises but could not attend aerobic classes or the gym?

Rosalind Smith is a physiotherapist and also a Tai Chi practitioner and she is providing a course of safe exercises in a supportive, non competitive environment.
Sessions will take place in the Carnegie Theatre and Arts Centre, Workington.

Expert Patients Programme

If you have a long term health condition that rules your life and you would like to take back control, then the Experts Patients programme can help.

Trained volunteers who have a long term illness themselves are running courses that can help you to:

Deal with pain and extreme tiredness
Use relaxation techniques and exercise
Cope with feelings of depression
Understand your symptoms and how your condition affects you
Plan for the future
Eat healthily
Communicate with family, friends and health professionals
