Allerdale Grants to Individual Sports People

Allerdale Borough Council is looking to support the next David Beckham and Denise Lewis!
Allerdale is offering financial assistance to sports people in the borough to help them in their pursuit of high sporting achievements in their chosen sport or activity.
The grants are available to those who have reached a high standard of performance either at regional level or for those competing in national and international sports events.
Grants can be for:
* Training costs, including travel to and from regional camps or squads and any coaching fees;
* Purchase of special equipment or specialist clothing or footwear;
* Entry fees to regional or national competitions and events;
* Hotel expenses for training sessions or competitions.
Applications will be considered on merit and will be made on a 'first come - first considered' basis, the scheme will continue until the available funding runs out.

Sport Relief

Sport Relief will fund between £250 - £1000 for work which uses sport and exercise to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for people who are excluded or disadvantaged. This may be through low income, rural or social isolation, age, disability, race, sexuality or gender.
The fund will support Community groups that are using sport to:
  • increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and isolation
  • help people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives to regain confidence and self-esteem
  • encourage people to take part in sporting activities that bring communities together
  • promote economic development and increase income in local communities

Allerdale Community Fund

Small community and voluntary organisations and parish councils in Allerdale can apply for grants in the region of £50 and £5,000. Applications of less that £500 can be fast tracked to ensure a quick response. The fund will support projects that improve the economic, social and environmental well being of local communities

Football FoundationFootball Foundation

Football and Government have teamed up to deliver a multi- million pound investment programme for footballs grass roots. The Football Foundation is based on a partnership of the FA Premier League, the Football Association, Government and Sport England.
Funding is available under the following headings:
- Capital Projects Scheme
- School Capital Projects Scheme
- Goalpost Safety Scheme
- Community & Education Scheme
- Community & Education Small Grants Scheme
- Football Stadia Improvement Fund
- Junior Kit Scheme

Small Projects - Awards for All

Awards for All is a Lottery funded programme set up to provide greater opportunities, improved facilities, and more money for sport.
Support is given to schools and voluntary organisations, priority is awarded to areas of economic deprivation and disadvantaged groups.  If you are a local group and need between £500 and £10,000 Awards for All may be able to help you

Community Champions

 

Individuals or key volunteers within developing groups can apply for a grant from £25 - £2,000 (a maximum of £1,000 for equipment) towards:

  • volunteer training
  • fact finding visits
  • advice and support for volunteers and committee members
  • start up costs for new groups
  • priorities are people who are: in rural areas, in disadvantaged areas, working at grassroots or who are over 50.

Sportsmatch

To be able to apply for sports match funding you must be a non-profit distributing body and properly constituted. If this is you then you are eligible to apply as long as you deliver sports at grassroots level.
You are required to gain outside sponsorship of a minimum of £1000.You can have a maximum of 3 sponsors but each must give a minimum of £1000 (with the exception of schools who only need a minimum of £500).
Criteria:
- Sponsorship money must be 'new'.
- the arrangement with your sponsor must be actual commercial sponsorship
- The sponsor must be a commercial business
- They will not match funds from tobacco manufacturers and will only match fund alcohol sponsorship if majority of participators are over 18.
- The scheme or project must be NEW
- The aim must encourage new participation
- They won't fund large capital projects
-They won't fund normal running costs

Small grants available for sports equipment, holiday schemes and club development to support community groups and Sports clubs.

Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities (NLDC) fund

Grants for up to £10,000 (revenue and/or capital) available from the Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities (NLDC) fund, to provide innovative learning opportunities to participants from deprived communities (either communities of interest or geographical communities. Sport England - Community Investment Fund

The Community Investment Fund is a pot of money that will support projects that that are open and accessible to the community, allowing people to enjoy a wide range of activities and require funding of more than £5000. The scheme is open to non - profit organisations, it can be for capital or revenue costs and the project must involve a recognised sport by Sport England.
It is a requirement of this scheme that applicants have partnership funding as Sport England will not fund whole projects (they will fund approx. 35%, depending on capacity to raise partnership funding).

Big Lottery Funding - Young Peoples Fund

The idea of the YPF is for young people to come up with ideas for projects and to be involved in making them happen.
The projects should help young people achieve the following:

Being Healthy
Staying Safe
Enjoying and achieving
Making a positive contribution
Economic Well being

Three types of grants are available:

1 - Grants to individual young people (11- 25) (or small groups of young people) - to help them make a difference in their communities

2 - Grants to voluntary and community organisations - to run local projects with and for young people

3 - Grants to voluntary organisations to fund National projects

Other Sources of Funding for Allerdale

 
Allerdale Youth Bank
 
Allerdale Youth Bank has been set up by young people for young people in Allerdale. Groups that provide activities for people aged 11-25 can get grants from £50 - £500 for projects or equipment but they must be able to show that they do some of their own fundraising. The young people themselves must write the application with support from an adult in the group. The decisions are then made by a panel of teenagers on how the money will be spent.
Here are some ideas of the things you can get money for:
  • Circus, dance, drama, arts and craft workshops
  • Sports activities and equipment
  • Days out and trips away including residential trips 
  • Equipment for your club
  • Money to set up a new club
  • Your group can only have one grant in each 12 month period.

Early Years Allerdale
Will provide grants of £50 - £1,500 to non-statutory groups for children and related activities for 0-14 year olds. There are 2 types of grant:
- Sustainability grants - short term fixes for groups that will be viable in the future.
- Inclusion Grants - for projects that increase inclusion.
