Planning applications disclaimer
Members of the public may inspect copies of the application, the
plans, and other documents submitted, during normal office hours at
The Town Hall, Oxford Street, Workington or via our online
planning
applications search. Any representations must be sent in
writing to the Planning Manager, Allerdale House, Workington, CA14
3YJ or submitted via our website within 21
days from the date of this publication.
All comments and representations are made
available for public inspection under the provisions of the Access
to Information Act 1986. This means that all correspondence
including the names and addresses of those making representations
appear on the Council’s website. Avoid any details that could
compromise your security such as dates or times when you will not
be at home.
Any correspondence you do not wish to have
included in the public register must be clearly marked “not for
disclosure”. Letters marked in this way will not be made available
to the public, but will also not be available for consideration by
the Council’s Development Panel.
Anonymous comments will not be considered.
If we receive comments about a planning
application that are considered to be defamatory to another person,
these remarks will not be included in any reports or published on
the Council’s website. This is because publishing a defamatory
statement may constitute a libel. Unless the author arranges to
remove it, the original paper version showing the comments will
remain on our public file leaving the writer at risk of an action
for libel.
