Permits
In certain areas of the borough, residents are required to
display a valid Residents permit in order to park their vehicle
time unlimited in the time limited zone their property lies in.
Most of the Resident permit schemes are
currently administered by Allerdale Borough
Council reception staff, on behalf of Cumbria County Council, in
the Council Office situated in the town the permit is required for
i.e.

The General rules for obtaining a Residents Permit are:
- The person applying must be a resident of the property.
- The vehicle must be registered to the property.
- The property must not be NNDR rated.

Allerdale office concerned.
Businesses are not entitled to Residents permits.
Dispensations
Dispensations from the time limit in Disc Zones can be obtained
for small business's (Builders/Plumbers/Electricians etc) where for
a limited time and in a specific location they require to park a
vehicle near to where they are working. There is
a cost to these dispensations and application forms for them are
available from Allerdale Borough Council area offices.
Once an application has been received it will be considered, and
if approved, once payment has been made a permit will be
issued.
Off Street
Season tickets
Allerdale Borough Council operates a system whereby a motorist
may purchase a yearly season ticket for a specified
vehicle. There are 2 types of season tickets
available:
All Towns - This ticket will allow the
bearer to park in any Allerdale owned Long stay Car Park within the
borough. The cost for an All Towns Season
ticket for 2007 is £175.00
Single Town - This ticket will allow the
owner to park in any Allerdale owned Long Stay Car Park within the
specified town. The annual cost for a Town
Specific Season ticket for 2007 is £120.00
Season tickets can be purchased in any of the Allerdale Borough Council Area Offices and are
valid from 1st January to 31st December in
the year they are purchased. People who wish to
purchase a season ticket after 30th June would receive a
50% reduction on the fee.
Season tickets are NOT valid on any Short Stay Car Park (where
maximum stay is 3 hours or less), on the Wigton Council Centre Car
Park, or on any private car park managed on behalf of the business
concerned by Allerdale Borough Council.
