Permits
In certain areas of the borough, residents are required to
display a valid Residents permit in order to park their vehicle
time unlimited in the time limited zone their property lies in.
Resident permit schemes are administered by Parking
Services staff, on behalf of Cumbria County Council Highways
Department, in Workington. Residents requiring permits can
take their forms to any of the offices detailed below, and if
correct a temporary permit will be issued. Your application
form will be sent to parking services where it will be either
accepted, in which case you will receive the full permit in the
post or rejected, in which case a letter of rejection will be
sent.

The General rules for obtaining a Residents Permit are:
- The person applying must be a resident of the property.
- The vehicle must be registered to the property.
- The property must not be NNDR rated.

Allerdale office concerned.
Businesses are not entitled to Residents permits.
Dispensations
Dispensations from the time limit in Disc Zones can be obtained
for small business's (Builders/Plumbers/Electricians etc) where for
a limited time and in a specific location they require to park a
vehicle near to where they are working. There is
a cost to these dispensations and application forms for them are
available from Allerdale Borough Council area offices.
Once an application has been received it will be considered, and
if approved, once payment has been made a permit will be
issued.
Off Street
Season tickets
Allerdale Borough Council operates a system whereby a motorist
may purchase a yearly season ticket. The Season Ticket can
have up to 2 Vehicle Registration's entered on it, may be purchased
Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly or Annually, and may be used
on any Allerdale owned Long Stay Car Park within the
borough.
Costs for these Season Permits can be obtained from the
annual 'fees and charges' leaflet produced by the council or
by clicking here.
Season tickets can be purchased in any of the Allerdale Borough Council Area Offices and are
valid from date of purchase. Season tickets are NOT valid on
any Short Stay Car Park (where maximum stay is 3 hours or less), on
the Wigton Council Centre Car Park, or on any private car park
managed on behalf of the business concerned by Allerdale Borough
Council.
