Voters wishing to cast their vote in the upcoming Workington by-elections for Workington Town Council are reminded of some key dates ahead of the poll on 16 December 2021.

Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on 30 November 2021. It is easy to register to vote, just go to: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote  .

It is particularly important that people who have recently turned 18, or moved house, ensure they are registered at the correct address. Anyone who has already been registered and their details have not changed, does not need to re-register.

Applications for new postal votes or amendments or cancellations of existing postal votes or proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Allerdale House, New Bridge Road, Workington CA14 3YJ by 5 pm on 1 December 2021.

Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Allerdale House, New Bridge Road, Workington CA14 3YJ by 5 pm on 8 December 2021.

Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Allerdale House, New Bridge Road, Workington CA14 3YJ by 5 pm on 16 December 2021.

Voters are encouraged to check the details on their polling cards when they arrive through the post, especially where their polling station will be located.
