Wisitors will have the option of three nights of free parking at the multi-storey car park during its late night shopping events. These will take place from 4pm until 8pm on 6, 13 and 20 December.

Councillor Michael Heaslip, Executive member with responsibility for Environmental Quality, said: “Workington is one of our most popular towns for shopping, which is arranging additional late night shop openings in the run-up to Christmas. To support those extra shopping opportunities, we are providing some free parking in the town centres on those nights only. We are pleased to be able to support those shopkeepers making that extra effort to promote the local economy and encourage thriving and vibrant town centres.”
