Traders from across the UK and beyond are travelling to Workington at the start of August to join Groupe Geraud at an exciting International Street Market.

Part of Groupe Geraud’s series of award winning events, this street market will be presenting exhibitors from across the UK and the continent selling food, drinks, and craft. The market will be situated on Murray Road and Finkle Street in Workington and will feature an open-air bar, live music, and children’s entertainment such as face painting, fair rides, and games.

The market, which has been organised in partnership with Allerdale Borough Council, is set to run for three days across the weekend from Friday 3rd August to Sunday 5th August, giving shoppers a great excuse to enjoy the market in the summer weather. The Market will host everything from handcrafted garden furniture to Delicious Street Foods, Artisan Gin, and Incredible Sweet treats. Offering a huge variety of products from craft to consumables there will be something for everyone.

Andrea Probets, Chief Operating Officer from Groupe Geraud said, “We are very excited to be hosting this our third International Street Market in Workington and to have Allerdale’s Lord Mayor present to launch the event at 11am on Friday 3rd August.  There will be something for everyone with a diverse range of market traders and activities.  Our events have a real community feel, appeal to all ages and are perfect for the whole family. “

Councillor Mark Fryer, Executive member with responsibility for economic growth, added: “We are delighted to work with Groupe Geraud once again to bring this popular market back to Workington. By supporting events like this we can contribute towards one of the Council’s priorities to make our towns thriving and welcoming for visitors and residents, while also enhancing the local economy.”

This promises to be a great event in the centre of Workington, working in conjunction with Allerdale Council to support the town and its businesses.
