The Allerdale and Lakeland Lottery was set up last year by Allerdale Borough Council to help local good causes raise much needed funds, it is run by Gatherwell who run similar lotteries with other councils. This “bolt-on” staycation prize is provided by Gatherwell and is available to all councils who are participating in this special offer.

Since the pandemic hit local good causes will need even more support to recover over the coming months, even years. The Allerdale and Lakeland Lottery is a fun and easy way to help your community without giving up precious time.

Since its launch the Allerdale and Lakeland Lottery has raised more than £25,000 for local charities and so far, more than 70 local groups have signed up.

50p of the £1 ticket goes directly to your chosen good cause with 10p going to the community fund, used to further support local good causes. It really is a win-win for you and your community.

To buy tickets go to www.allerdalelottery.com or call 01900 400015.

Cllr Marion Fitzgerald, Executive member with responsibility for the lottery, said:

“I’m really pleased with how the lottery has gone in its first year and it is great to see it helping community groups up and down the borough. Every week residents win prizes on the lottery – and with this special prize they have an even greater incentive to sign up. Of course they also know that by playing the local lottery, they are supporting a local cause which means a lot to them.

"I’d also encourage any local group based in Allerdale to take a look at the website and sign-up to the lottery. It is free, and you get a lot of support from Gatherwell on how to make it a success for you.”

The draw is on the 28th August and the results will be announced at 8pm on the lottery website.
