The government has confirmed that the State Funeral of Her Majesty the Queen will be held on Monday 19 September, and that this day would be a Bank Holiday.

As a result, Allerdale Borough Council is advising on some changes to its services next week.

The council’s offices and phone lines will be closed on Monday 19 September 2022. They shall reopen at 9am on Tuesday 20 September 2022.

Waste collections will be carried out a day later than normal throughout the week beginning 19 September.

Therefore, collections normally carried out on the Monday will be made on the Tuesday, with collections normally due on the Friday, will now be carried out on Saturday 24 September. The council ask that residents have their bins out ready to be emptied by 6am on the day of collection.

Residents can check their bin collection day on the council’s website.

Anyone wishing to contact the council in an emergency – such as for homelessness support – is asked to ring 0303 123 1702.

Customers can also find out more about council services, pay bills and report any issues through the council’s website and MyAllerdale app.
