A free parking scheme for NHS workers, care workers and NHS volunteers in Allerdale Borough Council car parks has come to an end due to changes in Government guidelines.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic Government guidance has stated that councils should provide free parking for the above groups to use while working or volunteering. However, with the Government continuing to ease lockdown restrictions, the guidance has now been changed and a decision has been taken to withdraw the emergency parking pass as of 21 June 2021.

The council operates a number of car parking locations across the borough. For more details on car parking locations, go to https://www.allerdale.gov.uk/en/parking/car-park-locations/.

Anyone with queries should contact the council’s parking services team on car.parks@allerdale.gov.uk. A copy of the Government's guidance can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-health-care-and-volunteer-workers-parking-pass-and-concessions.
