Apply for an anti-social behaviour case review

If you have reported 3 more separate incidents of anti-social behaviour to either the local authority, Police or housing provider within the last 6 months and the anti-social behaviour still persists then you can request an ASB Case Review.

About the anti-social behaviour case review

Anti-social behaviour can have an overwhelming impact on its victims and, in some cases, on the wider community. Anti-social behaviour is defined as conduct that has caused, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to any person.

If you are a victim of persistent anti-social behaviour and you have already reported this to any of the main responsible agencies (such as the council, police, housing provider) you can request a review of your case to find out if further action can be taken to resolve the ongoing anti-social behaviour.

The anti-social case review won’t review concerns about council services.  If you have a complaint about a council service please use the Cumberland Council's Complaints procedure.

Who can make an application

You can make an application if you are:

  • a victim – individual person, business or community group
  • a third party who can make an application for a case review on behalf of a victim, with their consent. This can include a friend, relative, carer, councillor, Member of Parliament, or another professional person
  • a senior manager within Cumberland Council who decides that case review is necessary to safeguard a vulnerable victim of anti-social behaviour

On 1 April 2023 local government in Cumbria changed, with Cumberland Council providing all your council services.

Don't worry though, your bins will be emptied as normal, and you'll still be able to speak to the same team about any enquiries to do with things like council tax, benefits, planning or any other service.
